Kookaburras’ 2023 World Cup Recap

The Kookaburras team travelled to India for the 15th edition of the FIH Men’s World from 13-29 January 2023.

A busy couple of weeks for the boys in teal, lead to them playing off for bronze against the Netherlands. Congratulations to the Netherlands who pipped the Aussies by the final siren. A final score of 3 - 1.

We all know well enough that Australia never comes home empty handed, Darwin boy Jeremy Hayward finished the 2023 World Cup as the top goal scorer, while he was also named the Defender of the Tournament. All of this on a night when he made his 200th appearance and scored his 100th goal. Well done Jez!

More information on the tournament can be found on the FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 website.
