Club News - JANUARY

Hi everyone,

SUMMER HOCKEY round 2

CHRISTMAS CATCH-UP write up?

COMMITTEE ROLES - ARE YOU INTERESTED?

The next step is to set up our Non-Executive Committee for 2023.  This group meet monthly to plan the season, share ideas and discuss our clubs development under the directive of our Executive Board.  Some of the team from this season are keen to continue, but we have a few spots on the committee we are looking to be filled, contact Maxine to discuss further.

Our club also has a few non-committee roles.  So if you want to raise your hand, get more involved and volunteer (without attending meetings) then please get in touch with Jenni, our club secretary admin@margaretriverhockey.org.au and we will find a role that fits in with your time and interests.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
PLAYER DEVELOPMENT and COACHING FOR 2023!

Please help us with our planning process, we are keen to hear from you if you are thinking about coaching or assistant coaching next year.  We want to organise relevant training and skills development for our players. So let us know if you considering getting involved with coaching a junior team, or learning more as a senior to upskill and help out at training when you can.  Contact Wally to learn more.

Hockey Australia and APM take leaps with Inclusive Handbook

Hockey Australia, together with Major Partner APM, have launched an Inclusive Hookin2Hockey Handbook to coincide with International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD).

The Handbook is a good resource for coaches in supporting the inclusion of priority communities including people with disability, First Nations people, the LGBTQ+ community, women & girls, and culturally and linguistically diverse people.

The Handbook was compiled in collaboration with APM, who specialise on enhancing an individual’s employability, health and wellbeing, and social and economic participation in their community. This includes for people with disability.
