There’s a role for everyone

There’s more than one way to be part of our club

Margaret River Hockey Club is run by a fantastic team of volunteers working behind the scenes throughout the season.

There are lots of ways to get involved — from helping guide the future of the club, to taking responsibility for a particular area, or simply lending a hand at training or with a one-off job.

We've structured our volunteer roles across three levels, making it easier for people to contribute in a way that suits their skills, interests and available time.

1. Our Board

The Board provides the overall governance, leadership and strategic direction of Margaret River Hockey Club.

Board members are nominated and elected through the club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) and oversee areas such as club governance, finances, planning and future development.

If you're interested in helping shape the future direction of MRHC, we'd love to hear from you.

2. Our Committee

You don't need to be a Board member to play an important part in running the club.

Our non-executive Committee members work alongside the Board and meet monthly during the season to help manage the general running of the club.

Committee members may take responsibility for particular areas or projects and provide valuable ideas, experience and practical support throughout the year.

It's a great way to become more involved without necessarily taking on a formal Board position.

3. Club Coordinators & Other Volunteer Roles

Not everyone wants to attend meetings — and that's absolutely fine!

Our club also relies on volunteers who take responsibility for specific roles, training-night activities and one-off jobs throughout the season.

These might include:

  • Training Night Coordinators

  • Merchandise

  • Catering and BBQ coordination

  • Fundraising and events

  • Equipment

  • Busy Bees

  • Special projects

  • Other one-off jobs when an extra pair of hands is needed

Some roles might take an hour a week, while others only require help once or twice during the season.

It's a great way to contribute without joining the Committee.
