Our Junior Hockey program is designed for players in Years 3–12, providing a fun, supportive environment where children can develop their hockey skills, build confidence and enjoy being part of a fantastic club community.
Whether you're moving up from Hookin2Hockey or joining hockey for the very first time, you'll be welcomed by our friendly coaches, volunteers and teammates.

Junior Teams
We have teams for both boys and girls, with players grouped by school year.
Years 3–5
Perfect for players who are developing the fundamentals of hockey while learning teamwork and game play.
Players enjoy weekly training together before competing in Saturday morning games throughout the season.
Years 6–8
As players develop, training focuses on building skills, teamwork and game awareness while continuing to have plenty of fun.
Competition becomes a little more structured, helping prepare players for senior hockey.
Years 9–12
Our oldest junior players continue developing advanced hockey skills while enjoying competitive hockey in a supportive club environment.
Many players begin transitioning into senior hockey while continuing to represent their junior teams.
Training
All junior teams train on the Margaret River Hockey Turf at Gloucester Park.
Training times vary depending on age group. Please refer to the current Training Schedule below or contact the club if you're unsure which session is right for your child.
Competition
Junior teams play throughout the season against clubs from across the South West as part of the Busselton Hockey Association (BHA).
All games are played at the Busselton Hockey Stadium.
Games provide a fantastic opportunity for players to put their training into practice while building friendships and enjoying the team environment.

Shin pads
Mouthguard
Sports shoes
Water bottle
Don't have your own stick yet? No problem! Margaret River Hockey Club has loan hockey sticks available, so new players can give hockey a try before purchasing their own equipment.
Pathway to Senior Hockey
As players progress through the junior program, they'll have opportunities to continue their hockey journey into our senior men's and women's teams.
Many of our current senior players started their hockey journey right here as juniors at Margaret River Hockey Club.
