2026 Club Wind-Up – What a Way to Finish the Season!

Our 2026 Club Wind-Up brought players, families, volunteers and supporters together to celebrate another fantastic season at Margaret River Hockey Club.

The day began with our Junior Presentations at the Margaret River Men’s Shed, with a big thank you to Colin Fox (Foxy) for taking on the role of MC for the day. Club President Ian Noakes welcomed everyone and thanked our current Board and Committee members for their time, commitment and contribution throughout the year.

Ian also reminded members that two Board positions will reach the end of their four-year constitutional terms this year, meaning we will be looking for two new Board nominations. Anyone interested in getting more involved with the club is encouraged to contact our Club Secretary for further information.

Celebrating Our Juniors

Junior Coordinator Rachel Phillips then took us through another huge year of junior hockey, celebrating our teams, players, coaches, managers, parents and volunteers.

Following the junior awards, everyone headed across to Hockey HQ for lunch, games and some time together away from the usual rush of training and match days.

The pulled beef tacos were a definite hit, made possible thanks to meat generously donated by Nat and Simon Creagh from Leeuwin Grass-Fed Beef, together with the ongoing support of Woolworths Margaret River.

There was plenty happening on the turf too, including the very popular Penalty Spot Piñata Smash!

Our New Change Rooms Are Officially Open!

At 2.00 pm, Club President Ian Noakes proudly opened our new change room facilities, marking the completion of another major project for MRHC.

The new facility provides dedicated change rooms for our players, as well as space for team talks, coaching sessions and club meetings. It has been a real club and community effort to get the project completed, with support from government funding, local businesses, community organisations and many hours contributed by our own volunteers.

It was a proud moment to finally open the doors and celebrate what has been achieved together.

Senior Presentations & One Last Fundraiser

The afternoon continued with our Senior Awards and Presentations, recognising individual achievements and another successful season for our senior teams.

Our final fundraiser of the season was also drawn—the MRHC Club Raffle. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, Stella Bella Wines, White Elephant Cafe, Bunnings, Heretic Wines, Two Cracks Coffee, Temper Temper Chocolate, Down South Camping Fishing Outdoors, Cape Collection & Luminescence Candles, members and supporters, together with our Wind-Up BBQ, we raised an incredible $3,000 towards the final costs of our change room project.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped set up, cook, serve, organise activities, sell raffle tickets, present awards and pack everything away again.

Days like this only happen because people are willing to lend a hand, and your time and effort were very much appreciated.

Most importantly, thank you to all our players, coaches, managers, parents, families, volunteers and supporters for being part of MRHC throughout 2026.
