Finals Push for Hockey Club

🏑 Margaret River's women are on a roll!

The Margaret River Hockey Club women's team has continued its outstanding season with a dominant 8-0 win over Capel, strengthening its hold on second place on the ladder.

The victory was the team's ninth win of the season, alongside two draws, keeping their grand final hopes well and truly alive.

Goals came from across the field, with Debbie Storey and Leanne Cordero each scoring doubles, while Aimee Keast, Maxine Williams, Tibby Tuckett and Chelsea Pickford also found the back of the net. Pickford's perfectly executed tactical lob was one of the highlights of the afternoon.

Margaret River's defence was just as impressive, giving Capel very few opportunities inside the circle. Strong attacking pressure from Aimee Keast also earned a penalty stroke, which Leanne Cordero calmly converted.

The challenge gets even bigger this Friday night, when Margaret River takes on competition leaders Robbins in a crucial top-of-the-table clash.

🏑 Boys wanted!

The club is also looking to grow its junior ranks and is inviting boys in Years 6–8 to join the team for the second half of the season. New players of all experience levels are welcome at Wednesday night training as the club builds towards next season.
