Year 3-5 Mixed Team for 2021
New format for 2021!
The Year 3 – 5 ‘s age group will play the new, more engaging, small sided format games
- Games played on a half size hockey pitch
- Teams will have a maximum of 10 players (mixed boys and girls) and games will be played with 7/side
- MRHC will register 3 teams in the Assoc competition – (due to demand!)
- Please contact Jenni Boyle. We only need a few more eager little players and we will have full third team!
Training: 4.00 pm – 5.00 pm (March – August)
- Tuesday 30th March
- On the Lower Western Oval, (New Grass Soccer Pitch) Gloucester Park, Margaret River
- This time is for both 3-5 teams and the Goldstix participants ( Goldstix programme runs for 6 weeks)
What you need:
- hockey stick, shin pads, mouth guard, sport shoes
- water bottle (a water fountain is available at the pavilion).
- MRHC have hockey sticks, you can borrow before you buy!
Games:
- Are (usually) Saturday mornings at 11.00 am for 1 hour played on grass
- A few turf games will be will scheduled, these may be at a different time.
- Please wear appropriate sports trainer footwear.
- Games are umpired by “green shirt” trainees and mentor. Please be patient!
- Season runs from late March to mid September – usually no training / games during school holidays.
- Carpooling – consider sharing your contact details with other parents (for Saturday games travel) Discuss with your Team Manager.
What to wear
- MRHC provide a team shirt
- player needs black shorts or sports skort or skirt
- and Club socks– please purchase online NOW! – $15 (collect socks at training)
- Spare socks – Consider packing a spare pair of socks for team mates that may have forgotten theirs :0)
Fees & Payment Options:
- The fee for this age group level is $161.50 .
- This is the compulsory Hockey Australia insurance/governing body fee $31.50
- + $130 Club fee
- MRHC offers discounts for multiple family members
- 10% off for 2nd player.
- 50% off for 3rd player.

Fundraising options:
- Please consider volunteering a few hours of your time to fundraise for your club.
- We volunteer at the Lions Club, we can raise funds through sausage sizzles.
- We volunteer at local events (like the Margaret River Ultra Marathon, X-Adventure race) – Events are listed on our club calendar.

What refreshments are available?
- The stadium has a canteen!
- Hot food and selection of drinks are available (upstairs)
- Coffee machine in front of admin office (downstairs)
Are there changing rooms?
- Showers are available to use (hockey is played in all weathers)
- Helpful suggestion… bring a towel and a change of clothes for the trip home!

All parents will need to sign this from for the team to play games. Your team manager will print a copy and complete the player information. Please help your team manager and sign it as soon as you can. – Thank you
